About Catherine

Catherine Madsen is extremely appreciative of the human body and the therapeutic effects of movement. It began when she discovered yoga at the age of 17. Since then, she has dedicated herself to learning about human physiology, the neuromuscular system, and the important role health and wellness play in prevention of disease and illness.

She grew up in Ottawa, Canada and moved to Austin while in high school, which instilled in her a love of travel and exploration. Catherine enjoys hiking, practicing and teaching yoga, cooking, and enjoying the live music this lovely city has to offer.

Education And Training

Catherine earned her B.S in Exercise Sports Science, with a minor in French, from Texas State University, graduating in 2015. Before applying to graduate school, she worked in corporate fitness and wellness at a large corporate technology company, serving as a Fitness Specialist. Her role included creating employee wellness programs, assisting in completing annual employee health screens, and managing group fitness and personal training.

Catherine received her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Texas State University. At Texas State, she served as a Doctoral Instructional Assistant to the WellCats employee wellness program. During this year, she taught yoga classes to employees and staff of Texas State while managing the ongoing health coaching program. She is honored to have received the Erin Miller Confidence Award, which was created in memory of her classmate and friend who passed during her second year.

She is looking forward to using the NeuFit and Redcord Neurac methods in her treatment of patients while empowering them with tools to understand their bodies and achieve their personal goals.

I spent my time at CHARM after a car accident and Catherine was absolutley incredible to work with. I felt very lucky to work with someone who is very intelligent and knows so much about the human body. Her passion and patience for helping and caring for her patient is what I valued most. Above all Catherine helped me restore my life and I know will help countless others.
